Yale announces recruting class

Yale football coach Tony Reno has announced the Bulldogs incoming recruiting class. More info to come later...

The 28 newcomers include the following: Max Archuleta, running back; Aaron Ault, defensive end; Michael Bernardez, cornerback; Stephen Buric, tight end; Austin Carter, linebacker/fullback; Cole Champion, defensive back/outside linebacker; Keith Hawk, cornerback; Roger Kilgore, wide receiver/defensive back; Ben Killon, offensive lineman; Carl Kreitzberg, offensive lineman; Andrew Larkin, linebacker; Avery Lewis, wide receiver; Sebastian Little, wide receiver; Luke Longinotti, offensive lineman/defensive lineman; Braden Meador, offensive lineman; Pat McHugh, defensive lineman; Mikhail Reece, defensive end; Austin Reuland, wide receiver; Derrek Ross, offensive lineman; Dustin Ross, offensive lineman; Matthew Rubino, wide receiver; Logan Scott, quarterback; Luke Thomas, linebacker/fullback; Blake Thomson, linebacker/halfback; Thomas Undercuffler, defensive back; Tyler Varga, running back; Adam Van Valkenburg, linebacker; Eric Williams, quarterback
 

“It was a sprint, but we are excited about our incoming class,” said Reno in a press release. “We were looking for competitors, players who love to compete and are willing to work in everything they do to be successful. Yale wants players that eat, sleep and drink the game of football.  We think we have found that type of player in our 2016 class.”

Varga to Yale?

The Canadian Interuniversity Sport’s reigning rookie of the year Tyler Varga could be headed to Yale.

Varga, a 5-foot-10, 218-pound running back rushed for 799 yards and 15 touchdowns at the University of Western Ontario last season.

Ivy League signs deal with NBC Sports Network

The Ivy League announced it came to terms in a two-year renewal agreement with the NBC Sports Network to televise football, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse games according to Bloomberg.
 
That will include the 2012 and 2013 football game between Yale and Harvard. This year will mark the 129th edition of the series.

Yale players honored

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame announced members of this year's Hampshire Honor Society, which included 12 Yale players.

Players, who maintained a 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career, are honored.

The following Yale players were honored: Ben Ashcraft, Alex Birks, Geoff Dunham, Bryan Farris, Gabriel Fernandez, Cliff Foreman, Jordan Haynes, Michael McInerney, Pat Moran, Austin Pulsipher, Jake Stoller and Patrick Witt.
