Mroz in contention for Arena gig

Former Yale quarterback Jeff Mroz is one of two players expected to be brought in to compete for the vacant quarterback position for the Alabama Vipers of the Arena Football League according to a story in the Huntsville Times.

Alabama's starting quarterback Tim Hicks suffered a concussion on Saturday and Mroz is supposed to be brought in along with former Vipers quarterback Brent Dearmon, according to the report in the Huntsville Times.

Mroz, who passed for 2,484 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior at Yale in 2005, was not taken in the 2006 NFL draft but did spend time in training camp with Dallas and Philadelphia.
