Bailey decommits, headed to Harvard

Originally headed to Yale, RB/DE Daniel Bailey has decommitted and looks to be on his way to Harvard, according to OCVarsity.com.

The 6-4, 255-pound Bailey finished his senior year at JSerra (California) had 11.5 sacks and earned all-league honors.

Chris,

How about ascertaining some football players who have been accepted to Yale? I count only 3 to 4 who have confirmed. It does not look good so far. Harvard is decimating Yale!

Harvard is getting a lot of players that are on Rivals, ESPN and 24/7. Getting Bailey is a tough loss! He looks good, we needed him.

I can only find 2-3 players on the sites that have committed to Yale. I wonder if the 8 game losing streak and losing the game at the end of the season has boosted their recruiting and hurt ours?

Coach Murphy just keeps on reloading with talent

Why wouldn't Yale use its best recruiters in California. Alot of talent, good schools, kids with grades. We send Pat Hatch out to California for a couple weeks vacation, hes not getting any kids. Hope he enjoyed the beach at least.

Right now, we are getting our butts kicked in recruiting, and not just from Harvard. Hope Reno knows what he is doing this year.

Harvard is beating Yale to the punch. Looks like the lies of Reno are catching up. A lot of false promises given out the last two years in recruiting. Coaches are catching on.

How are all these highly rated recruits even getting accepted at Harvard? Sounds like the basketball scandal all over again. Unless the system based on the academic index has changed, Harvard can only admit 2 in the lowest band.

I have faith in Reno. As an assistant to Coach Sid he was Yale's best recruiter, and he has more than proven his ability as a coach and recruiter over the last three years. There is absolutely no evidence he has lied, given false promises, etc., and he is highly respected and admired by his players. So let's stop this Reno bashing. He will come up with an outstanding class, as always.

As I said below luckily what is really going on does not make this blog. Luckily. It leaves room for the trolls but that is irrelevant in the long view.

3rd place in 2014 is not bad for Yale in recent years. Maybe we can repeat that in 2015 if we can beat Brown and Princeton. Dartmouth and Harvard will be playing for championship. Maybe we can beat some of the middle teams. That looks like where we will be for awhile. Reno is working hard but I think recruits are seeing his bluff and going elsewhere.

8:49,

Why don't you and your friends specify re what the bluff and other tactics that you claim Reno is using instead of useless generalities. Have some guts and explain them!

These are angry people trying somehow for some reason to get at Tony Reno. They have zero connection with reality and absolutely no idea what is going on. It's really extremely sad.

Harvard has a big selling point: back to back Ivy League Champs. Coach Reno can't force anyone to come to Yale. Just imagine how bitter those people would if Yale wasn't 8-2 last year! We've seen a major improvement each year under Reno, and I trust his coaching and his judgment.

More bad news about Harvard's recruiting. Watching the Texas HS state championship game tonight, I learned that Charlie Booker of Houston Cy Ranch High School is headed to Harvard. Booker is big, strong, fleet and athletic. He's a big reason his team has made it to the 16th and final game of the season. If he stays healthy, he'll be an impact player all four years in Boston.

I watched that game live. Booker was had over 100 yards rushing and was the whole team tonight in the largest division in Texas. He played very hard. Harvard has 3 Texas commits: Charlie Booker, Adam Scott (Denton Guyer - very fast and quick WR), and Case Brabham (St. Mark's High - big athletic H Back)

I have found 24 commits for them, and I can only find 4 for Yale at this time on twitter.

Chris,

I count only 6 recruits. D.J. Bailey decommitted. I think that you need a mole in the football department to obtain some more info! Also, Elijah Jones who visited Yale last weekend committed to Navy.

Here is some good news for Yale and Reno backers: For the past three seasons this blog was pining for a return to wining seasons, particularly in the Ivy League. Now the obsession is competing with Harvard, almost recruit by recruit.
Is that progress, or what?

The Trolls will probably never stop complaining, or shut up, even if we go 10-0.

Me, I'm ready to make my plane reservations for next year's Harvard game. I'm gonna be there when we beat 'em.

Yeah. Like you have the past 8 years and 13 of the last 14! You need to beat Dartmouth also.

2:26 Richard Patrick is crazy. Harvard already has over 25 commits and took out best recruit. We have 6. They got the pick of the litter and we are getting the leftovers. Said statement but it is true. On ESPN they have 10 guys listed, and Yale has 2 (1 of which has now committed to Harvard) - now giving them 11. That is the best of any year I can find period.

Yale loses another 3 star player to Harvard-Anthony Camargo, L/B. He visited Yale 2 weeks ago. Will it ever end! Recruiting MAY NEED A SERIOUS OVERHAULING!

It won't end until Reno takes Pat Hatch out of California. He's clearly targeted by Harvard. Get your best recruiters in California!!!!

These kids are all in Harvard's recruiting class, too. There are only so many athletically AND academically talented kids to go around.

Harvard generally loses a few to Stanford every year,as does Yale. Stanford also wants smart kids and has the advantage of being able to offer them full-ride athletic scholarships.

Guys do you think tony reno has a group calledThe Friends of Yale Football? LIKE HARVARD DOES. Harvard spent $776)000 on recruiting for mens sports last year . Maybe we can,t match that money.

Yale isn't exactly the university of Bridgeport. Time for Reno to quit the excuses and start recruiting.

You guys are comical. Y and H recruit from the same pool. You have no idea who has committed to Y yet and who is on the bubble. H got some solid players, Y will as well. None of it matters until they step foot on the field. I'm sure the Y recruiting class will finish up strong. There are plenty of players still out there. Reno and this staff have shown their ability to identify and land top players.
