First of all, I apologize for the lack of updates. I’ve been
busy helping with Frozen Four coverage and getting married.
Anyway, I dropped by practice Wednesday. Here’s a link to
some notes along with some additional ones below. Please keep in mind head
coach Tony Reno still can’t comment on the new recruiting class…
RB Tyler Varga had a remarkable sophomore season last year.
The All-Ivy League pick is only getting better. Reno said he’s improved his
blocking and pass catching.
“We want to make him a complete back,” Reno said.
WHO ELSE IS IN THE MIX FOR CARRIES?
Well Kahlil Keys pulled a hamstring during winter
conditioning so he hasn’t played this spring. Expect him to be in the mix when
healthy. Everett Johnson has moved from LB to RB and Reno said he’s been a
pleasant surprise so far. Junior Tate Harshbarger and Austin Carter have also
gotten touches.
LBs MAKING PROGRESS
Two LBs to keep an eye on: Will Vaughan and Andrew Larkin.
Larkin missed last season with an injury. Both have been impressive.
OTHERS LOOKING STRONG…
Kyle White, who has moved from the offensive
line to defensive line, WR Avery Lewis and Grant Wallace, and DBs Roger Kilgore
and Cole Champion.
