Yale lands another QB
There are multiple reports stating that Chaminade College Prep quarterback Logan Scott has committed to Yale.
The 6-foot-2 Scott had originally committed to Columbia in late December and I don't have the specifics surrounding his change of heart. He joins Eric Williams as quarterbacks in Yale's incoming freshman class.
"Yale offered back in January, and I kept it quiet until after I visited and passed through admissions," Scott said in an entry on the http://www.insidesocal.com/ blog. "I've made my final decision."
Scott passed for nearly 2,000 yards and ran for more than 900 yards as a senior.

Just what the doctor ordered. And now a few bulldozers for the OL and particularly the DL.
By my count Yale has commitments from nine players who project to play either on the offensive or defensive lines so seems like they did a pretty good job addressing those positions.
Logan Scott's profile lists him at 6' 1" and 185 lbs. His highlight video is impressive as he can both pass and run. Link to it at:

A lot of talent on the O-line even before the freshmen get there. With Gavin back, Carbery probably moves to right tackle to compete with Collins, and with Talerico, Oppenheimer, and Chism all having seen considerable playing time last year, there is a lot of experience and talent there.
I make it five OLs: Killion, Kreitzberg, Meador, Ross, and Ross; one OL/DL: Longinotti; and ONE DL:Mc Hugh. Of course, people can sometimes change positions and dispositions, but the DL looks thin to me, and I don't see enough reinforcements.
Logan looks terrific. Welcome to Yale.
Truly Blue '59 omits Mikhail Reece, 6-5, 245 DE, Tampa, FL. MaxPreps credited Reece with 83 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Had offers from Grambling and Western Kentucky.
A national recruiting director I know had this to say about Scott:
"Logan Scott is a stud. Columbia's loss is Yale's gain. Solid across all areas. Best feature is his pocket presence/intelligence. Knows how to read a defense/pick it apart. Bright future in the Ivy..........."
Sweet music.
10 minutes of Logan Scott highlights. Pretty exciting:

I was only counting tackle to tackle. If we're including DEs, where we have some numbers, we need to include Ault.
Reno has announced that he is going with a 3-4, not a 5-2 defense. Reece, at 6-5, 245 as a freshman, is far more likely to be up front than Ault at 6-4, 210.
Since we are about to experience a dearth of dominating defensive dreadnoughts, both on the current roster and in the wings, it's time to channel the innovative spirit that made Yale the cradle of American football.
What I propose is: spring a 2-5 defense on the Tigers and unveil our 1-6 in Cambridge the following weekend.
You heard it here first.
