Varga invited to NFL Combine

Following an impressive performance at last week's Senior Bowl events, Tyler Varga has been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine from Feb. 17-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Varga is just the second Yale player to be invited. Patrick Witt was invited in 2012.

Varga helped lead the North team to a 34-13 victory in the Senior Bowl, finishing with four carries for 31 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 39 yards.

RUNNING FOR A CAUSE

Yale assistant coach Kevin Cahill will be running in the Boston Marathon for Dante Chiappetta and Team IMPACT in April.

The Bulldogs "drafted" the 6-year-old Chiappetta, who has cortical visual impairment and cerebral palsy this past season.

Heard from a Harvard insider that two key assistant coaches had been job shopping. Now it sounds as if they will stay with the Crimson for 2015 season.

I'm a Jet fan for life living in Seattle. Would love for Jets to draft Tyler V, but I have a feeling the smartest team in football will get him: The Seattle Seahawks.
