4-Down Friday
Here is this week’s edition of
4-down Friday, a look at four things to keep an eye on heading into
Saturday’s game against Princeton...
Another week of the run:
Likely without a healthy true QB once again, expect to see another heavy dose
of RBs Tyler Varga and Mordecai Cargill. After being shut out by Brown 20-0
last week, the Bulldogs will go up against another one of the Ivy League’s top
run defenses. The Tigers allow just 114 yards per game on the ground.
Field conditions: Tony
Reno said Thursday that the Yale Bowl had three inches of snow on it from the
latest storm. That should make for a pretty wet and soggy field Saturday. Not
sure how that will impact the game - if it even does at all - but it is
something worth keeping an eye on.
Back home: The Bulldogs
return to the Bowl after two straight losses on the road. How will they respond
being back at home against one of their biggest rivals?
One-two punch: Yale’s
offensive line will be up against two of the top defensive linemen in the
league. Mike Catapano (6-4, 270) leads the Ivy with 10 sacks. Teammate Caraun
Reid (6-2, 305) is also among the league leaders with 4.5 sacks. The Bulldogs
will need to find a way to slow them in order to move the ball.
1 Comments:
What do you think will happen if the field is wet and soggy? It makes the fast guys slow and is terrible for the run game and fast backs! Just another thing to add to the Yale misfortunes!
