Yale will host Lafayette of the Patriot League this Saturday. The Patriot League announced earlier this year that it will now offer football scholarships.Yale coach Tony Reno said that would not stop the Bulldogs from scheduling Patriot League opponents in the future. The Ivy League does not offer athletic scholarships. Yale has three Patriot League teams on its schedule this season: Georgetown, Colgate and Lafayette. 
“Any teams in the Patriot, we’d love to keep playing,” Reno said. “I think it’s a great regional rivalry. It’s great football and the schools have similar interests academically and athletically. I’m 100 percent for it.”
