When: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. at Harold Alfond Sports Stadium in Orono, Maine 

Record: 2-3

All-time series: Yale leads 7-0-1

Last week: QB Dan Collins completed 21-of-28 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown in a 39-7 win over Albany. He also rushed for a score. Maine took a 20-0 lead in the opening quarter. WR Micah Wright had five catches for 105 yards and a TD. The Black Bears defense had five sacks and a pair of INTs. 

Top players: QB Dan Collins (145 ypg, 2 TDs), RB Nigel Beckford (74.7 ypg, 1 TD), WR Micah Wright (82.2 ypg, 2 TDs), DE Trevor Bates (25 tackles, 3 sacks), LB Randy Samuels (24 tackles, two sacks, one INT).

I look for significant improvement this week. Tough to play defense at a high level when the offense is going three-and-out on the majority of possessions. If we can find a way to control the tempo of the game (and the clock) with a reasonably good ground attack, the defense won't have to be on the field for the majority of the game and our passing game (even with several top receivers out) will be much more effective.

Agreed. We're probably not going to win any games with our passing attack. Our oft-maligned defense really isn't as bad as some would have us believe. They're simply out there for an inordinate amount of time.

I don't see us moving the ball against this Maine defense on a consistent basis. This game is on the defense and exposing a below average Maine offense. Lets hope the coaches have a game plan.

Dartmouth's time of possession on Saturday was 31:15. Not much more than ours. It just seemed that way.

Did anyone see CH 8 sports tonight. They showed some clips of the Dartmouth game. Can anyone tell me why the Defensives backs will not look back for the ball.If they did we could of had a few picks.Hope they do a better job this sat an the next 5 games or this will be a long season.
