come play harder in the second half if not your chance is gone.
Little to no hope for yale right now.

BTW Harvard beats Cornell 40-3 while yale barely beat them. Yales best chance this season is this game and princeton. if they cant compete here there season is over in my eyes.

Yale fans:

There: location, e.g., "here and there"
Their: third person plural possessive
They're: contraction of "they are"

If we nail this down, we will soon pass Harvard and Princeton in the rankings.

6:24, you want "to" before "a different blog"

Come on, we're Yalies. We can do this.

32 yards rushing and you have guys on this site who think the Oline at Yale is good. This is worst Oline I have ever seen put on a yale uniform. The two guards couldn't play at Trinity. This needs to change, get new guys in the game.

Unfortunately, there are no new guys to put in. The good ones graduated and were recruited by the previous coaching staff. This is just the beginning of tough times.

Do you think we can get some playmakers next year? The football game i saw today was terrible. We had our asses kicked today on both sides of the ball. What happen to next man up ? Can we see some better play calling do we have only 3 running plays come on open the play book. Were all mad but this was a bad game. All the other teams scores were in the 40s . Next week we go north i hope we have a better game.

Reno is selling us on getting these recruits who supposedly have all these offers. They all can't play and clearly get dropped by the major schools. We need to spend more time in recruiting and not go off of recruiting sites. We end up taking piles of shit who can't play.

It's one game, Yale has injuries, and Dartmouth is very good. I know you hater-trolls are joyful, but the rest of us will let the season play out before jumping to conclusions.

But you are hater-trolls so jump away.

Also, it might be time to think about having Bo Hines sit out the rest of the season and try for an extra season of eligibility for medical reasons.

Why have the kid come back for just 2 or 3 games, if that.

Let's face it - Dartmouth has one terrific football team this year! It will be interesting to see if they can make their game with Harvard close, for once. After several years of some very weak teams, Teevens has come up with a winner the last couple of years. Maybe that can happen to us...?

Now where are all the guys who wanted us to renew our rivalry with UConn??

Get your tickets for the Columbia game Halloween weekend. Last chance this year to see Yale win an Ivy League game. Four years into the Reno tenure and still no prospects for entering the upper echelon of the league. This is not just a poorly coached team, it's a team of overhyped and undertalented recruits. We can no longer talk about how young we are and how we are "getting there." Forget how pathetic yesterday was, look at this roster and tell me how this team improves going forward? If it makes me a "hater troll" to want a new coach discussion to begin, then that's what I am. Reno already has gotten more rope than Tom Williams. After four Reno years, the Harvard whipping this year will be one of the worst we've seen. The gap is bigger than anyone can recall it being. Everyone here is okay with that?

Be nice y'all. Plenty of teams got demolished yesterday in the FBS and we knew this was gonna be a tough game. Morgan Roberts happened to have one of his worst games to boot.

Tough game, hats off to Dartmouth.in every aspect from top to bottom. I know its part of the game but when you are playing 2nd and 4th stringers it can make it difficult to compete. I watched Northwestern get their asses handed to them by Michigan 38-0 so it could have been worse.
But some of you so called fans, stank so much I have to breath through my mouth.!! Nothing but a bunch of RATS!!!!. Waiting in line for your free cheese or rotted whatever.
Yale is 3-1 no matter how you look at it.Like I said injuries are part of the game,oh well.I am going to be optimistic and be positive. This is the time to be a man not a Rat. Yale may lose so what.!!! You might be watching the future in next weeks Game with so sit back and learn to appreciate what you have. You may not be around to see the results for the future. In other words your here today may not be here tomorrow . sincerely Jon Harris Loyal Bulldog Fan

Jon Harris, you beat me to the punch. Interesting post by 12:02 PM. “Win our last Ivy game” “overhyped, under talented recruits”, “Reno has gotten more rope than Williams”, you clearly are hoping for the failure of the program, which does stink. You are also not one of the more “football smart” posters on this blog either. Do you want us to clap our hands and anoint you the first one to “proclaim” the down swing of Yale football? No shot. And yes, I said down swing, because FACTUALLY we have only lost 1 game so far this season. The FACTS are that we have lost 3 games since the beginning of last year. 2 to Dartmouth and 1 to Harvard. These are two very VERY good teams. Admittedly yesterday was not good at all, agreed. But same as it is every week we will need to PLAY THE GAMES to determine the winner of them.

As I am beginning to see, to some of the less informed football and most impatient and unforgiving posters on this blog the success of a season here is only measured in wining an ivy championship and/or beating Harvard. If that is the case then yesterday we definitely took a step in the wrong direction. There is still a possibility for these things to happen this season (as there was one last year at this time) , but we have taken the full control out of our hands, which is not good. Personally I think a successful season is measured in many more ways than that, but I am only one person, and I do know the sport. Those of you with less knowledge of the sport (who clearly reveal yourselves in your posts whether you own them or not) really have no grounds to continue to piss all over Reno and his staff until we start losing games against teams that are “bad” or that we “should” beat. That is itself is also debatable and hard to measure, again if you have any knowledge of the situation. That being said this nonsensical crap that is coming out of your mouth really should not even be acknowledged until that time.

As a true fan and knowledgeable onlooker, while I am not at all happy about yesterday’s performance, I am not going to quit on the staff and the kids on this team after that, especially so early in the season. There are definitely things to think about , things that need to be changed, and hope for improvement for. In addition we hope to get some of the very important injured starters that have been out back, which of course would help us. Regardless of the outcome of these things I will not quit on this team, as we do not expect any of our players or coaches to do. That, to me, is what makes you a “hater troll” (in the words of a REAL fan in Jon Harris) , and obviously not at all a fan of this program, as you wait in the wings and hope for the teams demise. As I have said many times before I accept harsh criticism, which is partially deserved after yesterday’s performance. Yet no one wants to hear emotion filled non substantiated negative rants. You can gladly keep those to yourselves. We will bounce back. Go Bulldogs.

we have had the same defensive backs coach since Reno took the job. Guess what it's not working at all. I'm also extremely disappointed in the Offensive line play. someone need to do some coaching.

I am with TNC and Jon. You haters can go suck eggs. In addition to being a Yale fan, I bleed maize and blue for the Michigan program, and defend my boys and my coach against all criticism. Haters be damned! So when those "haters" won and rode my guy Brady Hoke out of town, I stopped following the program. (How they doin' this year, by the way?)

TNC, you wrote:
"to some of the less informed... posters on this blog the success of a season here is only measured in wining an ivy championship and/or beating Harvard"
So I'm curious: What's the definition of success to the "more informed" posters?

success is judged by what you do against Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth and Brown. Pretty simple.

Good one, 1:00 AM.

My only frustration with Reno the injury secrecy; right now it's that we have absolutely no idea what kind of shape Hines and Rich are in. Best WR, best RB, it's huge.

As for Yale's direction, how the hell can anyone complain after last year? I just hope the area that had to improve -- the D -- is in fact better than a year ago for here on out. If so we'll be fine.

We're going to beat Penn and Columbia and be 3-1 Ivy. The last three weeks will be very interesting.

Just curious, where was Teevens and the D program before Williams came onto the field? Oh yea, at the bottom of the league and about to get FIRED! Keep that in mind when you look at last weeks game. He's as dynamic as Varga was and NFL legit prospect.

I ATTENTED THE GAME AT DARTMOUTH. IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF THE YALE DBS WOULD SOMEHOW LOOK FOR THE FOOTBALL ON LONG PASSES. A FEW OF THEM MIGHT HAVE BEEN INTERCEPTED IF THEY HAD. ALSO, WHEN DISCUSSING INJURIES WHAT IS THE STATUS OF NICK CROWLE ? HE HAS NOT PLAYED IN GAMES FOR SOME TIME. I ASKED THIS QUESTION AT A PRACTICE LAST WEEK AND WAS TOLD NOT TO ASK QUESTIONS TO PLAYERS.

with regards to injuries, there are laws that protect student athletes from this information being made public. live with the fact that this is college sports, not the pro's. again, it's not Reno, it's not the Register, it't the LAW!

Harvard, Princeton and Dartmouth have suffered injuries to talented starters, but it seems they are out only a couple of games and then are back as strong as ever (witness Dartmouth's star receiver this year and Harvard's QB last year). Yale's injuries always seem to result in "day to day" situations that often last the season. I wonder why...

Also, Why on earth did Tom Beckett schedule Maine away. These poor kids have endured three tough road games and have three more to go! Tom ought to fly them up to Bangor at his expense. He coudn't get ANYONE to come to the Bowl??

There are trolls here who hate Reno for whatever reason and never quit. They do not give reasoned critiques but rants. A few disappointed alums of program possibly. Some formerly related to program. Ignore them and move on.

That's your proof?!?!! Are you serious? Have you ever even been in a locker room or on the practice field? That's threatening? Let's get Nick Saban or any other coach worth anything mic'd up. Better yet let's all sit around and hold hands together. We'll give ivy league participation trophies and stop keeping score. "Tony...don't yell at my boy"....puhleeze!

Also been around three years, I have also not heard of any kids kicked off. At this point for these young men its their choice to stay. Unlike elsewhere they can walk and still keep financial aid. After years of playing sports, most of these guys have pretty thick hides. Like him or not Reno has created a strong never say die attitude with these teams. I hope the coaching staff adjusts and moves on to planning for Maine.

That video is actually hilarious. Reno looks like a Pop Warner B team coach telling kids you'll do up/downs. How about doing some coaching pal.

This edited session sound the same as every other coaches "Mic'd up" session, generic and mostly with a positive tone. You never really hear any techniques being specified or "coaching" going on. As far as how"hard he is on these kids, he is not. Coaches regularly verbally ACCOST kids on football rosters all over the country every single day. Most of you would cringe if you heard the things that most coaches are saying. Reno is far on the "nicer" end with his players.
