I expect a much improved defense from this recruiting class. A little heavy on H-backs and tight ends. Strong offensive line. Defensive line even better. Excellent receivers. Good punter. Glad Kyle Ellerson was added to give more depth in running backs. I think Peggs may start as a freshman. All-in-all an excellent recruiting class. Kudos to Coach Renu and his staff.
ReplyDeleteSon of Eli- Thanks for your insight.
ReplyDeleteWell guys i found our new power back ? His name is chris maxwell he is now a HB . The kid is big and strong and likes to hit. See if he would change to running back . May take some time to learn the procedure of running back but its worth the wait. 6-2 215lb give him the ball. He can block and caught almost 500 yards last year . Would be nice if it happen.
ReplyDeleteJohn Barton, who will be a sophomore next year, is also promising. He had strong performances in last year's JV games. Of course I expect Rich and Salter to split the RB duties, but its good to have some depth in case of injuries.
ReplyDeleteVery excited about this incoming
ReplyDeleteclass The Coaching staff has once again did a wonderful job.
I believe Yale will continue to florish and do well.
I just would like to have seen a better home football schedule.
My thought Yale should never have less than 6 home games a year.
Cheers Jon Harris
Peter Firestone is from the Lawrenceville School, as is John Lager who is a post graduate there.
ReplyDeleteAny word on potential bulldogs who are taking post-grad years?
ReplyDeletej. Hunter Roman was offered by B.C., UConn, Fordham, Holy Cross, and Central Connecticut. Vanderbilt asked him to walk-on. Kids 6'6" with a 7'1" wing span and 41" vertical leap. He needs to put on some weight but kid's a player. Don't overlook the Connecticut kid.
ReplyDeleteAlot of kids left in the dark by Yale this year. false promises by the head coach which resulted in Yale coaches being kicked out of High Schools across the nation. Classy
ReplyDeleteFind another hobby, 7:12, and, while you're at it, find a shrink. Maybe someone on the meter will listen to your dishonorable, unsupported drivel.
ReplyDelete7:12 YOU ARE AN ASS.ALSO A LIAR..
ReplyDeleteWow! this must be a REALLY good recruiting class, the haters are worse than ever!
ReplyDeleteNot to mention the potential violation for extending practice times from last year. In the end it all catches up.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jon Harris. To have only four games in the Yale Bowl (just after its 100th anniversary too) is pretty sad. Back in the days when Dartmouth played Yale, Harvard and Princeton away every year, they managed at least four games in their tiny Memorial Field.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why Maine (and AWAY!). Better a bye if we can't find anyone else to play in the Bowl.
Wouldn't be shocked at all if that was true. Reno controls the time for practice.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like last years class was much better than this year. What happened?
ReplyDeleteSo many idiots,Chriscould Yale have a couple of more commits coming in.?
ReplyDeleteThank you
I was told this is the complete list.
ReplyDeleteHey, thank you for the quick response.
ReplyDeleteCHUNN,
ReplyDeleteYale Football Recruit:
Michael Johnson, Jr. Montini H.S., Lombard, IL. 6' 4", 315 lbs., OT/DT
Ray great job,Chris could please confirm this.Chicago Sun Times has him being commitment to Yale.?
ReplyDeleteas of 2/4/15
Thank you Jon Harris
Yale Follower:
ReplyDeleteAbu Daramy will be doing a post grad year at Choate before attending Yale.
Zach Allen was scheduled to visit Yale after BC the weekend before signing day but committed to BC before ever getting to Yale's campus.
Word has it that there has been a change and Coach Flanders is leaving as Defensive Coordinator.
ReplyDeleteAny truth to this and why?
Michael Johnson is also on the list. I will add him.
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to believe that Flanders is out. The guy has been here 18 years and clearly was a hold over for the young and inexperienced Reno . Though Yale has given up a ton of points in the past couple of years, they have apparently let go both the defensive line coach and coordinator just prior to Spring practice with the expectation to upgrade the quality of defensive coaching.
ReplyDeleteAll the best and good luck!!!!
For what it's worth, Rick Flanders is still on the website.
ReplyDeletethe past two defensive line coaches weren't let go, they made bad choices and were fired because of them. neither was Reno decision. facts are facts!
ReplyDeleteChecked out Mike Johnson on HUDL kid looks like a Dozer.I can see him getting his Wgt. down then building him back up.
ReplyDeleteHe looks very solid in his tecnique very good.
Cheers Jon Harris
Once again very nice class
Good luck to Coach Flanders
Reno runs the defense. Maybe he should fire himself.
ReplyDelete10:45 is such a wit. Hope he has a chance to share his mots with an audience wider than Portal 31's.
ReplyDeleteYah once again your wrong.10:45
ReplyDeleteGet a life...
Reno runs the defense. That's fact. Flanders was a puppet and forced to do what Reno thought was correct.
ReplyDeleteThen why wd Reno lose a puppet if he runs the defense? Perhaps it was just time -18 years is a long run.
ReplyDeleteNeeded a fall guy for his blunders as a coach.
ReplyDeleteHis "blunders" as a "coach"? He turns around the entire program and he needs a fall guy for his blunders? you are pathetic.
ReplyDeleteIn an extremely down year for the Ivy League, we finished third.
ReplyDeleteHow can there be a "down year" for the Ivy League? The Ivy League is a conference unto itself. It doesn't and shouldn't compete with others.
ReplyDeleteFlanders is not out or leaving get a life.
ReplyDeleteChris; Can you confirm Flanders is out.
ReplyDeleteYale competed for a title until the last game. Yale had one of the most exciting games ever in the Army Game. The Yale-Harvard game was a real contest and it was a helluva football game. The spirit of the team was great, the players bought in, the alumni excited, the program healthy. And who knows about Flenders but it might be the right time for him - he has had a tough job a long while -and the program IF it is true. Trolls, take a trip to the moon.
ReplyDeleteCan I get a AMEN..?
ReplyDeleteI am already looking forward to next year. I am going to have to travel to atleast 2games for 2015.
Cheers Jon Harris
After Chris Chunn was asked 3 days ago to clarify the status of coach Flanders, and has yet to post a reply, I'd bet the ranch he's moving on and Reno is finalizing stuff prior to an announcement.
ReplyDeleteIf right, the move is what Reno felt was right and that is what a head coach is paid to do. Also, thanks for everything and good luck to coach Flanders in the future.
Am I missing it. No quarterback? Shouldn't every class have at least one or two?
ReplyDeleteThey have 9 on the roster. You could say Tre Moore is a Qb.
ReplyDeleteMaybe put him in as a Wr Safety.?
Or let him compete as a Qb.
Find out in August.
Cheers Jon Harris
