Who will be Yale's starting QB?

Very cool idea. I bet that whoever starts off at QB this season is replaced by an incoming freshman at around the halfway point.

The best runner in the bunch should be the starter. You can't run this offense without a running threat at QB on every down. This has been the problem the last two seasons. It's too easy to take away the RB if the QB does not run. I know Varga is built like and plays like Superman but that will only take you so far. None of the ones listed are good runners (too light, too small, too fragile and not fast enough). Looks to me like the door is open for a freshman if he can fit the above requirements.?

I agree with 2:34. That's why I think a freshman will be handed the ball as soon as the coaches figure out what they've landed.

what is wrong with roberts? i never saw him play last year.

I saw every play Roberts made and I never saw him play either...
Roberts ad a bad year in every aspect of the game as far as I could see. Indeed, he was so poor in games that I assume he must've been dynamite in practice. But maybe it was adjusting to Yale, or the offensive scheme, or the dining halls, or his girlfriend. The guy I saw could never have played for Clemson. That said, we have a potential redemption year coming up.

I have a question for the 5% who voted "Other?"
Who did you have in mind?

I agree the quarterback position is wide open and should go to the best runner. If we are going to start a freshmen that means we are big trouble.

Not Really, It worked for Dartmouth.Williams started to play towards the end of 2012 season.he did well gave him enough playing time to start this season.
Believe me Yale has the studs to make this a great QB race. For next year.....

It will be Roberts or Scott. Everyone on this blog is nuts about kids who were playing high school football last year. It's simply not that easy a transition. Ask Eric Williams.

Are Reno and Morris both still there? Then it won't matter. But you guys who like freshman will be happy because you'll end up seeing all of them play. Probably within the first two or three games. Let the offensive chaos continue...

Chris: Are any of our guys planning to audition for the pros? If so, who?

I'm getting the sense that certain folks have voted more than, much more than, once.

I think the other could be Anthony morales. Saw him play in the brown jv game. Managed the game well. Accurate arm. Good decision maker. I believe he is a walk on. Seems to have a high football iq. Moved the ball well. Not the fastest Qb they have but has good size. Like to see more of him in the spring game.

Beau Palin (long snapper) and Chris Smith both have a shot at getting invited to a camp.

Question: What kind of stupid workouts are the coaches putting the players through every week now? I just heard about this. Absolutely crazy and stupid. What a waste of time! No wonder the kids are not improving.

The highlight film that anonymous shared the link mirrors the films for incoming freshmen. We have had players who passed for record setting yards in their senior year. I agree that it is a different beast in college. Should be fun to follow.

Chris:
Any news about spring practice, spring game, possible fifth year players, or anything else related to
bulldog football?

I would add to the above:
How do the coaches spend their time between the recruiting season and spring practice?

Apparently by interviewing for other jobs.

So, I will add to the list:
Any news on who will be the OC this year?

So what is the scoop on Kevin Morris leaving. I do not think he was that hot anyway. His coaching did not improve any of the quarterbacks. His play calling very predictable.

Looks like here is another incoming freshman QB for the mix. Has explosive speed and he is very elusive. Looks like he can make the throws too. Should make for an interesting competition.
