How did the rest of the Yale contingent fare at Yale's actual Pro Day on the 26th? Heard good initial reports on some of the class of 2015. Any details?

ReplyDeleteNFL .COM on the 2 Yale players with a legit shot at the next level. Tyler Varga and Charles Cook. Cook although not heavily in the spot light continues to turn heads and reported by locker report at the Baltimore regional combine as "The complete package"

4.6 is about what Varga is as a runner. He is still very dynamic without breakaway speed.

ReplyDeleteIt's the difference for Varga of playing in the CFL vs playing in the NFL and making money. If he ran a 4.4 he would be a 2nd-3rd round pick. 1 million signing bonus and the league minimum of 400k. A 4.6 he is a borderline draft able player.
ReplyDeleteAre you retarded? Only 3 running backs posted a forty time in the 4.4s at the combine and none of them will be drafted in the first four rounds, and probably not at all. If forty time was the predictor of success in the NFL all the track guys would be there for the big bucks.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Tyler - he is the real deal - he reminds me of this guy who came out of Texas and played for the Houston Oilers.. really shifty with good speed but would run you over if necessary (Earl Campbell) - he has the mentality and heart for the NFL - and comes from a great family) and don't forget the brains (those playbooks are rather large.. and a big part of staying in the NFL is knowing where you should be on every play) - don't be surprised if the Patriots pick him.. would be a good fit he will do well in the NFL - and congrats to Cook - I heard he's making some noise -
