FOUR-DOWN FRIDAY: Yale at Columbia

Here are four things to look for when Yale travels to face Columbia on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

GOOD POSITION: The Bulldogs need to come out of this game with a convincing win and without any injuries. That will put them at 6-1 and in a great spot heading into their final three games which get increasingly tougher. Yale will face Brown on the road next week, followed by Princeton for the Bulldogs final home game and then on the road against at Harvard.

WEATHER: Weather could be a factor here. Rain is expected and it could be heavy at times.

UNDER CENTER FOR THE LIONS: There was some hope surrounding the Columbia program when Stanford-transfer Brett Nottingham came to the Lions. But after being benched, Nottingham is no longer on the team. Junior Trevor McDonagh has stepped in and thrown for 548 yards and two touchdowns in his two starts. He will be under center against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

COLUMBIA’S PLAYMAKER: Running back Cam Molina has been the Lions silver lining. He’s their top playmaker and Columbia will put the ball in his hands as much as possible. Molina leads the Lions in both rushing and receiving.

Did it occur to anyone else that the Yale coaching staff did not want to humiliate Columbia? A question: not a statement.
