This will be a defensive challenge as Princeton puts up over 40 pts per game. The key is knocking Epperly out of the game early. I know that sounds bad but if you sever the head the body is dead. If we have any blitz in us this is the game to release the hounds. Epperly must be hit or tackled on every play. And I say this because if they score 40 we cannot keep up!

Don't know if Varga is good to go but I would consider using a wildcat package with him at QB as well. That way we can have two true running backs in the backfield. Let them defend that!

Hank Furman can lead Yale to a win against Princeton, especially if Chris Smith and Tyler Varga are back in the lineup. Also, we can't loose sight of Derek Russell's abilities, if he should be needed and pressed into service. It was Russell who helped beat Penn last year. Also, Rich and Keys are running well, due to their getting more touches. With respect to defense, the Yale D held against a very fine Brown football team last week on numerous occasions. My prediction, if the true lineup plays is: Yale 38, Princeton 35, the whiskers being a Kyle Cazzetta field goal.

Don't know why everyone here keeps obsessing over hurt players and basing predictions on what might happen with them. You play with who can get on the field. It is very unlikely that any of those three will be on the field Saturday. So the interesting question will be is it Roberts, Williams, or Scott? The love for Logan Scott on the blog recently is proof of the old adage that the backup QB is always the fans' favorite. No one has really seen much of this kid at all, yet many are sure he's the answer. Having said that - I'd like to see him get a shot as well. If nothing else, he's a guy Princeton has very little tape on. That wild card, and a few Princeton turnovers - end in Yale 34 Princeton 31

Some perspective on what a challenge this will be defensively: Princeton has scored in every quarter of every game with these exceptions: First quarter against Penn and they wound up with 38; first quarter against Brown and they ended up with 39; last quarter Georgetown, where they surely weren't even trying to score any more; and third quarter Lehigh. That's it, in 32 quarters of football. Enormous feat if the Dogs can even hold them to say, 31It's gonna take a huge offensive effort and a lot of luck and breaks to hang with them.

Scott is the answer to our prayers this weekend.

It's rare I pick against the Blue, but: P 31, Y 24. Doubt Hank/Chris/Tyler will play much if at all, but it's a challenge even if they do. There is our traditional ability to heartbreak the Tigers but I doubt it holds up now.

All that said, THE CANTABS WILL FALL on 11/23/13. Book it.

Yale hasn't faired well on the road with Ivy teams. And Princeton is the best they've faced yet. I hope I'm wrong, but:
Princeton - 32
Yale - 24
