A few weeks after his son Brendan won an Ivy League title, father John helped Ansonia win a record 15th state title in Connecticut high school football.

Sponheimer, an assistant at Ansonia, is also the freshman coach.

Ansonia was 13-0 this year.

Of course, that team went undefeated as well.
