UP NEXT: Dartmouth
When: Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Field in Hanover, New Hampshire
Record: 3-0
All-time series: Yale leads 53-39-6
Last week: QB Dalyn Williams has been tough to stop. He set a school record by completing 92 percent of his passes in a 41-20 win over Penn last week. Williams completed 23-of-25 passes for 336 yards and four TDs. He also ran for 73 yards and two more scores. It was Dartmouth's first win at Penn since 1997. WR Victor Williams caught 12 passes for 213 yards and two TDs. Dartmouth's offense produced 506 yards and held Penn to 263. The Big Green scored on each of their first four possessions.
Top players: QB Dalyn Williams (262.3 ypg, 6 TDs (passing) and 50 ypg, 4 TDs (rushing)), WR Victor Williams (28 receptions, 135.3 ypg, 3 TDs), DB Vernon Harris (team-high 20 tackles), LB Folarin Orimolade (16 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks)
only the 4th week and this may be one of the most important games of the year. this game will likely show whether we have a legitimate shot at the league title or not. dalyn williams is scary. good luck elis!
ReplyDeleteOn the Ivy Voy Forum Dartmouth fans are not showing Yale any respect. They are predicting a "30 point win " for Dartmouth and claim Yale will be "road kill" on Dartmouth's way to an Ivy Championship. I think they are vastly underestimating Yale. Reno will have his team ready to pass this test. Dartmouth's over confidence will be their biggest weakness.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know when we last won a JV game ? Who was hurt in the JV game was it a lineman any name .
ReplyDeleteI like yale as a team so far this year but i dont think they have too much of a chance here. maybe with there conditioning they can out play dartmouth in the second half like they have every game so far this year but that might not be enough to stop them. They really need to be focused here. Still i dont think they will match up with Dartmouth or Harvard they way they played so far this season. Still early though. You never know.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion on score Dartmouth-34 Yale-21
-----Wise Young Ivy League Fan
We've not played a good team yet so it's hard to assess our chances against a very good Dartmouth team. We've also been outcoached in both of the last 2 games against Dartmouth and this may be a problem. Regarding their overconfidence, remember it's
ReplyDeleteDart...MOUTH.
I have one simple request of Coach Reno. Please stop getting cute with the extra point attempt and just line-up and kick the darn thing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen. Those two debacles at Lehigh were embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteDartmout a good team, blue with a little yellow makes green has played a really weak schedule. More so than Yales, Yale may lose a game but they will not get blown out.
ReplyDeleteYes stop doing the ridiculous play calling on extra points. Protect the ball two hands on the ball.focus on no penalties. This team will be fine. Yale wins reason GOD is a Big Blue Fan.!!! Jon Harris Bulldogs!!!
Yale 31 - Dartmouth 30
ReplyDelete"out coached in the last two games"????? Two years ago we miss a wide open receiver for a TD and drop another TD, they make two diving catches for TD's, difference in game. Last year they have a pick 6 and punt return for TD. Curious how that is being "out coached"???
ReplyDeleteChris; What is up with the lack of reporting about the Brown JV game.
ReplyDeleteWho is teaching the Offensive Guards to back peddle like a defensive back at the snap on passes? That is totally embarrassing and speaks to how pathetic our guards are right now. Who's coaching that technique?
ReplyDeleteI would like to echo the earlier point about extra points. For the last three years Coach Reno has been taking points off the board because he is trying to convince everyone on how smart he is. Yes, it has worked a couple of times but it has not worked more than it has worked. Coaching 101...Kick the extra point
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree on the extra point shenanigans, but that play did win the Colgate game. So there's upside as well as downside.
ReplyDeleteThe Oline play is totally gross. we did a poor job recruiting the position as well.
ReplyDeleteWeak Schedule? Compared to who? Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton?
ReplyDeleteTake a look and see if any of those teams have played a schedule any tougher than Yale's. The answer is no. They have all played similar (weak if you like) schedules.
Why is the blog so negative?
ReplyDeleteBW '78
BW, There are a lot of Yale haters that like to troll this blog, but there are still plenty of good posters.
ReplyDeleteMost of us don't mind an honest criticism of the team and how we can improve, but that's not what the haters do. They like to bash Reno and the players at every opportunity.
Don't let the hater trolls keep you away. The good outweighs the bad.
As 1:34 said the good outweighs the bad and Tony Reno's got the program back on track.
ReplyDelete1:50 spit it out son,1:34 is correct. Reno and his staff are getting the job done.
ReplyDeleteSo say something smart or informative or just be who you are. Ok boy
4:34: Did you make it past elementary school?
ReplyDelete5:03 Bless your heart,be proud of what you are. What ever that is.
ReplyDeleteSorry 6:01. Elementary school would have been a reach for you.
ReplyDelete7:14 Please take your medication as perscribed. You need to not skip the dosage..
ReplyDeleteNow it's past your bed time. The grownups aes busy.Hmm prozak
