Former Yale FB Bill Primps gave the Bulldogs some words of encouragement at Tuesday’s media luncheon.

Yale did not go for it on fourth and short a few times in its 35-3 loss to Dartmouth. Tony Reno was hoping to pin them and get good field possession in return. He said Dartmouth was kicking into the wind and he didn’t want to give the Big Green the ball with a short field.
QB Morgan Roberts said though the offense struggled on third down (3 of 21), Yale came up just short and trusted its defense instead of going for it on fourth.
Said Roberts about the loss: “You can’t let that affect preparation. We won’t change the way we prepare for teams and games. You don’t change who you are because of one game. Just get back to basics. There’s a poster in locker room that says lose: work; poor: work; rich: work. Work no matter what you’re doing. Put your head down and grind.”
Bryan Holmes has been handling all the facets of the kicking game. He’s the first Yale player to do so since Tom Mante in 2008. Holmes is 5-for-7 on FGs, boasts a 40.0 punting average and has seven touchbacks on kickoffs. Holmes is on a “kick count,” only kicking during practice on Tuesdays and Fridays. He does “dry kicks” on the air and whistle drills on other days.
Victor Egu has been playing LB exclusively this season, after bouncing back and forth between DL and LB last year. He’s playing well, leading Yale with 35 tackles to go along with 2.5 sacks, an INT and a forced fumble
“He’s grown immensely from the spring to now,” Reno said. “There are points in times of games where he takes over. He showed that Saturday. He has a high ceiling. He can get better, and he knows it and works hard.”
The Ivy League has three teams (Harvard, Dartmouth and Princeton) that are 4-0 for the first time since 1968.
A Denver Broncos scout was at Yale’s practice on Tuesday taking a look at Roberts.
With a handful of injuries to Yale’s WRs, Chris Williams-Lopez stepped in and took advantage of his opportunity on Saturday. After missing the first three games with an injury, Williams-Lopez made his varsity debut and caught seven passes for 30 yards.

Looks to be a big separation between the top three teams in the IVY and Yale. Very disappointing.
You can not base separation on scores rather than the games being played. Dartmouth beat us handily, agreed. Harvard is the obvious front runner, and better also than Dartmouth until proven otherwise. We hammered Princeton last year and will not yield to them or anyone else until the games played prove otherwise. This is exactly how we were in the running for the Ivy championship last season at the end of the year, and we are STILL in a position to make that happen again this year. That is factual evidence. If we lost the games, then statements like that can be made, justly.
Dartmouth could have scored 70 if they tried. The difference in talent on that field was very clear.
I really have a problem with Yale not being able to run the ball! How does that happen.
Dartmouth could not have scored 70 as Teevens was desperately trying to run up the score by throwing bombs late in the game. Once the two Williams leave Dartmouth, they will be back in 7th place annually.
4:48 Dartmouth as the smallest school in the League, the lowest endowment, and 34 Varsity sports just can't compete with the "big 3". They should be playing Williams, Amherst, and Trinty, for that matter. Bottom line , they're just LUCKY, for 3 years in a row.
They were not lucky, they were Williams 3 years in a row. He broke ALL of Jay Fieler's records there, and Fiedler was an NFL starter.

Maybe we ought cut Teevens some slack. He recruited Jay Fielder, he recruited Dalyn Williams, and he recruited 10 All-Ivy players on last years team.Oh, by the way, in his various head coaching jobs (Maine, Dartmouth, Tulane and Stanford) he has recruited 4 QB's that have started games in the NFL. Maybe Williams will one day play on Sunday!

As I recall, when the current group of seniors were freshman, Reno benched his then juniors and seniors in favor of this group, particularly on defensive . He supposedly did it because: "they were his guys," "they were better players", and they would become great players over time, and at least by their senior year. Following the Dartmouth game and giving up almost 600 yds in offense, either the players went not as good as he claimed or the coaching has failed miserably to develop them. Perhaps it's the defensive scheme or play calling but that is on Reno. I just remember how painful it was for those juniors and seniors who were told that they were not good enough to play over Reno's recruits as their football careers at Yale were coming to an end. As for this group of seniors (Reno's first full class of recruits), hold on tight - I hope you get to finish your last year of football on the field as opposed to the sidelines.

It has been said time after time after time-the bulk of this year's senior class was signed up by Coach Williams. Less than a quarter of the class belongs to Coach Reno. Don't forget that Tyler Varga came on board thinking he'd have four rather than three years of Yale football.
Here's another fact injuries have played a big part of this season. Is that not a valid point.? Or you morons going to refute that also.? Go to practice and see 12 to 17 kids in red shirts.
