Yale recruiting update

Here is a look at some players that should be headed to Yale next season, pending acceptance (newest additions are italicized).

Ian Baker, DE, 6-4, 225, North Canton, Ohio: Playing OL and DE at Hoover.
VIDEO

Peter Firestone, DE, 6-6, 255, North Canton, Ohio: Had offers from Army, UConn and other Ivy schools. VIDEO

Michael Gordon, DB, 6-2, 170, Marietta, Georgia: All-Region second team by the AJC. VIDEO

Jamison Hale, DT, 6-5, 260, Fresno, California: Also had offers from San Diego and UNLV. VIDEO

Bo Hines, WR, 6-1, 190, Charlotte, North Carolina: Transfer from North Carolina State. Team’s leading receiver as a freshman last season. Huge land for the Bulldogs. VIDEO

Jackson Keimig, H-Back, 6-3, 220, Bothell, Washington: Received offers from a handful of Ivy League schools along with Idaho, Montana and Montana State among others. VIDEO

John Lager, WR/TE, 6-5, 230, St. Louis Park, Minnesota: Drew interest from several Ivy League schools, along with Army.
VIDEO

Rees LeMay, OL, 6-5, 275, Dallas, Texas: All-district selection. VIDEO

Jack Lee, OL, 6-5, 260, Mendota Heights, Minnesota: Part of a strong OL class for the Bulldogs. VIDEO

Kyle Marcinick, WR, 6-1, 185, Dublin, Ohio: Also had interest from Northwestern, Toledo and Youngstown State. VIDEO

Tre Moore, Ath., 6-3, 180, St. Louis, Missouri: Chose Yale over Princeton and Cornell. Schools like Syracuse, Indiana and Notre Dame also showed interest.
VIDEO

Edrico Oliver, TE, 6-3, 230, Bakersfield, California: Caught 55 passes for 1,134 yards and 14 touchdowns. VIDEO

Scott Patton, S, 6-3, 190, Irvine, California: Finished senior year with 126 tackles, four sacks and two INTs. VIDEO

Hunter Roman, DE, 6-5, 205, New London: Register All-State honorable mention pick last season. Received interest from Boston College, UConn and Central Connecticut State. VIDEO

Jacob Van De Grift, OT, 6-5, 290, San Diego, California: Athletic and should bolster Bulldogs up front.
VIDEO

Jimmy Wilkins, SS/WR, 6-4, 200, Frisco, Texas: Wilkins was a 9-5A first-team all-district selection this past season. VIDEO

Some quick notes…

The Bulldogs have a solid group of offensive linemen so far. Marcinik has great speed at WR. The addition of Hines is huge, especially with the loss of Deon Randall and Grant Wallace. Moore might be the most notable incoming freshman of this group so far.

Players return on Monday and will begin lifting, running and nutrition programs. A week later, they will begin 7-on-7s. Spring football begins the last week of March and finishes up with the annual Blue-White scrimmage on April 18.

1:16 is a Harvard alum, or probably more likely, a current student (who is having a great time pulling our chain). Either way, ignore him or her (unless he/she wants to identify his/herself).

I've been studying this blog. There are players from last year and years past that some of you have been mad that Harvard got. Research the player - not one snap of college varsity time at Harvard. When it comes to judging talent you all are amateurs. Someone is smart to keep you guys in the dark as long as possible.

7:33, I'm afraid you're correct. There's a pathetic creature, who having nothing else to do, spends his entire life on the Ivy League Sports Board. He styles himself "Observer." He has discovered and I'm afraid infected this blog.

WyldeBill,
For K, I would say Bryan Holmes. Alessi will compete and let's see how Parker Toms does when he comes back.

Is this true? No CT commits as of yet?

8:30 I do not think this is Observer, who preens about Harvard, and watches Yale like a hawk in case it threatens, but maybe doesn't have anything against any other school other than to be sure Harvard is always #1 and make sure the world knows it. I think this is either coaches or players from the past who have resentments for unfortunate reasons. It's just sad. I agree these folks actually know nothing, they just are patheticaly bitter. As to Ct recruits, who knows if there are players from Ct. the list is not complete. of course you want them a lot if they are great players, academically good, want the kind of school yale is and want to be near family. You don't want to have them just because they are from Ct. Some kids want to stay close to home, some want to go further away.Y has had great talent from mass and RI also for that reason. Y has had some superior talent guys from Ct but it doesn't mean that it will happen every year. It's a big country. go bulldogs

Thanks Ray for pointing that out. And it is more an observation than anything; we have had 3-4 guys annually from in-state, whether it be via public/catholic schools or prep schools. Just curious if our recruiting model has changed, seeing as there are several players going to ACC & Big 10 schools out of the state this year (Quentin Harris, Taft QB headed to Duke, for example).
