Yale lands DL James

It looks like Yale has landed another strong recruit in 6-2, 280-pound DL Daniel James.

James recently finished his senior season at McKinley High in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he earned all-division honors. Rivals rates him as a two-star recruit. He had several Ivy offers along with others like South Alabama, McNeese State and Bryant.

Check out some highlights of James.

“You know it’s an academic school when you go there,” James told the New Orleans Advocate. “But when I got to campus there were flags about every football game. That was one of the first things I saw. I didn’t expect that, and I liked that.

“I liked the football players and the students. I got to sit in on classes while I was there and talk to students. They didn’t know who I was or that I was there about football. All of them said positive things and that meant a lot.”

James said this about his decision on Twitter…

Overloaded on QBs last year. Tre Moore looks pretty good. We need a great running back.

    Chris:
Can you update the list of the committed. I'd like to see where we are numbers-wise. Didn't we take 31 or 32 last fall?

    Yale follower:

Highsmith is going to do a PG year at Choate Rosemary Hall. Not guaranteed a Yale spot for the year after yet, but it seems like he is on track to.

there are 5-6 other recruits Yale is waiting on their test scores. Most will PG at Choate if they do not get their scores up. This way Yale will have room for them next year and they can keep retaking the ACT/SAT

Highsmith was offered a full athletic scholarship by Yale. What do you mean hes going to Choate?

Yale doesn't offer athletic scholarships. Only offers of admission support. All money is need-based.

1:19 Yale offers aid according to need. If the young man comes from family where income requires it, he is full need and will have the equivalent of a "full scholarship." Was Reno lying? No. The terminology is the issue and since most people do not understand "full scholarship" the term is used to mean "full financial aid."

Hall was a great coach and recruiter. He told Reno to go pound sand left Yale. Reno doesn't know how to manage a staff.

Please ,do not be a total idiot.
    Coaches leave all the time.
Not everyone stays for long periods of time. It would have been nice to have Coach Hall stay,
Coach will get a coach who will be just as good.
Hey how did Monmouth work out.?
    Cheers big Ears, Jon Harris
