Yale will prevail, they will not fail.Morgan Roberts,Tyler Varga, Deon Randall,Grant Wallace, Will Chism,Carbery and the rest of the chaps will not let down Old Eli. The taste of victory will be like the nectar of life. What ever, Yale 45 Harvard 38 Cheers Jon Harris
That was one hell of a football game to finish one hell of a year. Our players and coaches should be proud. To end 8-2 and come that close to winning The Game is something no one saw at the start of this season. Congratulations and we'll hope for bigger and better things ahead.
Amazing a job well done.8-2 nobody thought Yale would do that well. Thank you to the Reno and his coaching staff. The wonderful Players,You deserve all the credit for agreat season.Putting this program up and coming. To all the Yale fans take care and stay safe. Cheers Jon Harris
Amen to that 3:52. Excellent season and steady improvement. That was a terrific college football game yesterday. Here's the odd thing: Why, over the last five seasons, have the last three games up there been great and the two at the Yale Bowl non-competitive blowouts? It seems strange.
Losing to Harvard, it stung.Large picture they did a hellava job well done.!! The program is solid under Reno. has alot of potential to be excited about next year. This team did things THAT NOBODY SAID THEY WOULD DO.8-2 was not in the forcast of this team. Yale Football is back, losing some key players.Who will step up and make the plays next year. Stay tuned Bulldog Fans we have to about a another 340 days. Happy Holidays from Jon harris
8:36 - I completely follow you. And I thought your logic was so impeccable excellent that I applied it to Harvard as well. Applying your formula it turns out they also only beat one worthy team as well. So despite being 10 -0 - they suck! Which is awesome because I knew they sucked; I just couldn't prove it until I was enlightened by you. Thanks!
The 8 teams Yale beat had a combined record of 25-57. The two teams they lost to were 18-2. Like I said played the JV's in 7 games this year. Army was no prize at 4-7 but they do play in a higher league.
This Texan is pleased with an 8-2 record. True, we lost to Dartmouth and Harvard, but only by a touchdown in games that came down to the wire. A long punt return beat us against Dartmouth, and a stolen pass reception in the Red Zone was the key play against Harvard. As for our victory over Army, it's something that three other DI-A programs failed to accomplish, never mind a top-rated Fordham team.
To the New Haven register, it is ridiculous that this blog has been inactive the past week. This was the biggest week in the past decade for Yale football, and not a single post on the blog. I understand Hunn was out for personal reasons and do not put a single ounce of blame on him. But it is absurd that no one stepped in for coverage. The NYT had multiple articles of the game on the front page, and the New Haven Register can't get anyone to run the blog for a week in Hunn's absence? Absurd.
Dead blog unsurprising as it's the offseason anyhow. Maybe this will jar the flatline: FIRE STUPER!!! Yale's blind insistence on keeping John Stuper as baseball coach, despite a pathetically long string of also-ran seasons in a four-team division, is pathetically negligent. Discuss.
Ray, thank you very much for that info.I hope you and your family had a great Thankgiving. If you have anymore info, please forward that.Thank You Jon Harris

Congratulations, and priorities are priorities. All of us understand. Except the trolls, of course. Hell -- maybe even THEY understand.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteJust make sure Mom knows up-front that future birthday parties on the Saturday before Thanksgiving are a no-no.
What's YOUR prediction (in the spirit of Chris Hunn!)?
ReplyDeleteMy heart says
ReplyDeleteYale 35 Harvard 31
My head says Harvard 45 Yale 35
I'm praying that my head is wrong
To repeat: Harvard, having failed on 4th-and-22, we win 35-29 in overtime on Tyler Varga's last Yale touchdown, his third of the day.

ReplyDeleteYale took advantage of a division 3 schedule. really only played 3 teams that were of FCS caliber. Went 1-2 in those games, 3rd place in the league.

ReplyDeleteYou are correct the one worthy opponent they beat was Dartmouth.
