Morgan Roberts keeps on adding to his resume by "distributing" the ball to his offense, while the defense keeps Dartmouth out of the end zone with its retooled secondary. Yale edges another step closer to knocking down all the pins, this season, in the Ivy League.
2:17 your post is very offensive. I am one of 18 senior parents. I know most parents well. We are proud of all of our sons on and off the field (even if they do not see the field). We support all the coaches and all they do to make the Yale team successful. To my knowledge, no one feels "shunned." Again, your comments are extremely offensive.
2:17 I am in agreement that your comment is VERY offensive! Lets look at ("B") on your list. With those kinds of comments I wonder who is the uneducated here. I am also guessing that you too will NOT identify yourself AND I will tell you this, Not one Senior Parent or player is praying for anything other than a ring.
6:59 and 3:52 I hope and I wait an pray that Yale football is back. That your sons no matter how limited is infact a vital part of this program. Before your sons leaves this institution that they will have a ring and memories that will last a lifetime. 2:17 is a good person who is defending his team,as I have done many times from perps who troll around. Heres to another Yale Victory Cheers Jon Harris
this game more than Army will show us what we have this season. weather may be a factor. great test, hope we come out on top. hoping we can find top gear and run away with it, but let's say Yale 27-24.
I appreciate the parent above being positive and supportive to the program and fellow parents. That said, I wasn't offended by 2:17. He was just speculating about why someone else could possibly be so negative, and accurately reflected a lot of irrational posts we have seen on this passionate blog.
Put another way: yes, the parents of Yale '15 players are no doubt swell and positive as a group. But also, hell hath no fury like a parent who feels scorned by their kid's lack of playing time. This goes for any sport in any era; I've heard it time and time again.
Anyway, Dartmouth offense is scary, but: Yale 38, D 37.
The Harvard Crimson, which we shall not characterize, picks us to win 34-24. We know it's only doing so in an effort to diminish our victory, as in "no big deal, you were favored." Whatever it's motivation, the Crimson got it right this time. Like the song says, "Yale will win." By two TDs. L et V
wyldebill, well said, I agree with you about 2:17. And speaking of those irrational posts, thanks for nothing and not identifying yourself 2:32. Really? You don't believe "he" capable. It is easy to blast someone or something and not let anyone know who you are.
That said it is GREAT to finally hear from some REAL senior parents (not those anonymous ones that claim to be) who do actually support the program and what it has done with for their sons. I have been waiting to hear from these people...welcome. I believe the parents of seniors have been misrepresented by these anonymous posters that talk about how “bad” Reno is for playing younger players and not giving the older players their “just due” in terms of playing time. The bottom line is that Reno cares about ALL of his players and wishes ALL of them well. Yet and still his job is to play the best & highest performing players regardless of their age, to win games. This is something that I have been saying since I got here in the late winter.
If you are a REAL SUPPORTER of the program, as I consider 3:52, 6:59, wyldebill, John Walsh, Jon Harris and many others to be you are not nitpicking about what is wrong, not wishing failure on the team, & not looking for their “false step” or first loss. Rather you are absolutely enjoying this ride so far and anxious for each weekend with the anticipation of seeing the fruits of everyone’s hard labor result in wins for the bulldogs; end of story.
That said this will be a tough contest. Dartmouth has a good team and a formidable offense. However I believe in the Bulldogs and think their focus and determination will allow them to prevail yet again this week. Looking forward to it.
This may be a tougher game for Yale than the Army game, but on paper Yale may be expected to cover the 7-9 point spread based on the stats of each team's 1st three games.
However, Dartmouth handily beat a Penn team which lost by a similar margin to this week's composite-ranked FCS #2 team, Villanova, and barely lost to #52 Jacksonville. Therefore, Dartmouth's #50 ranking at the same level as #52 Jacksonville may be too low and the outcome of the Dartmouth @ Yale game may be at least as close as the 7-9 point spread indicates. See http://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare1aa.htm also listing Yale at #18, Harvard at #22 and Princeton at #66.
If Yale can stop Dartmouth's running game (especially QB Williams inside the red zone), then Yale should comfortably beat the spread. If Yale just holds Dartmouth to its 150-yard per game rushing average, then Yale should still win, but by a margin closer to the 7-9 point spread.
Yale is for real. Dartmouth was held to 45 yards rushing (compared to its 154 average) and forced to pass. Unfortunately for Yale, Dartmouth's QB was able to pass for one of the best games of his career (388 yds of which 188 went to an outstanding receiver) and Yale helped out by giving up 3 interceptions and a long punt return TD.
Yale did not win on the scoreboard where it counted the most, but Yale did better on total yardage (480 yds to 434 yds) and rushing (178 yds to 45 yds) and was close behind in passing (302 yds to 388 yds),
Both Dartmouth and Yale will do well this year, and this may have been an important game in deciding the Ivy League champion (or co-champions). Dartmouth was under-rated going into this weekend; Yale and Princeton were rated more accurately; and judging by the Brown and Cornell games, Harvard may be over-rated until it is back to full strength.

ReplyDeleteObserver your so boring,Yale 42to24
ReplyDeleteWho is 1:33PM?
ReplyDeleteAre they:
a) The parent of a “shunned” senior that isn’t playing right now while the Bulldogs are playing the best they have played in some time?
b) A pretentious Reno hating uneducated troll who will never identify themselves and prays that Yale losses every week?
c) A “Williams supporter” who is burning in flames daily and too is hoping that Yale loses every week?
d) Any of the above
Most likely D. Not this week mutant. Bulldogs continue to roll.

ReplyDeleteThere is no way Dartmouth D stops Roberts, Varga, and Randall when they go in for points. Five touchdowns and two field goals.
Dartmouth with their dynamic quarterback will put up some points, but Yale will control possession and win comfortably in the end.
