I commend the Reno supporters for not overreacting to the Cal-Poly win. I am NOT a Reno supporter. However, I will do likewise. The truth will play itself out.
Are you a Yale football TEAM supporter, or are you above all a relative of a player? Reno is the coach of the TEAM until he isn't. Those of us who are not current or recent player relatives support the TEAM.
Right on, 10:28. And there are those of us who are unrelated to the coach or any of the starters who genuinely admire what Coach Reno is doing with and for Yale football. L et V
Reno is not the problem. If you know anything about football you will quickly come to the conclusion that the OC has no clue what he is doing. If you think otherwise you know about as much as Aunt Betty! I am sure Reno is aware of this. It's what he will do about it that he can be praised or run out of town for. It's funny how you can hide your flaws behind the cloak of winning. People are willing to overlook the boneheadedness as long as you score. Once you stop scoring the freaks will come out of the closet. Morris has taken very little flack up to now and all eyes are on Reno. But in reality who is the experienced head coach on the staff? Time to actually have a game plan other than Varga up the middle and passes to the right sideline? Common now, give your athletes a chance to be athletes! Stop calling a stupid game, you are not Alabama and you are not going to overpower anyone. Just calling it like I see it.
The true reality is the play calling against Dartmouth was not very good and execution in the second half even worse. The passing game has to become more vertical to make the linebackers drop off opening up the running game. Coaching does make a difference especially when teams are evenly matched.

ReplyDeleteI know just as much as anonymous 5:23. Don't listen to him. One bad game and the "it's the coach" dummies come out of the woodwork.
