A little recruiting update

Can't really file this under the "new recrui" category since I reported on Junipero Serra High of San Mateo, Calif. lineman Luke Longinotti being committed to Yale back in August. But since recent mentions of Longinotti listed him as undecided, I contacted his high school coach Patrick Walsh who said "yes, Yale is his choice still."

Longinotti is listed as being 6-4 and 270 pounds and was named the WPAL Defensive Lineman of the Year after recording 53 tackles and five sacks as a senior.

Counting the recent commitment of tight end Stephen Buric out of Easlake High in Tarpon Springs, Fla., that is 19 known commitments for Yale.

Jim, how does this recruiting class, so far, compare to previous years? Any update on the QB transfer from UT?

Austin Reuland, 6-0, 210, "all purpose standout" at Mission Viejo, committed to Yale, per his coach in the Orange County Register blog.

  4. thanks for the info on Austin Reuland.

As for high school QBs, I know Eric Williams is at the top of the list and James Few out of Plant, Florida has listed Yale among his top three schools. I don't have any updates on potential transfers.

  6. Yahoo's recruiting database lists him as committed to Yale as well. When I heard back from his high school coach or see a link to a story, I'll add him to the list.
